Who we are and what we believe.
The Commons Christian Fellowship is Bible-based group on SUNY Buffalo (University at Buffalo). We meet every Wednesday night at 7pm on North Campus, in 200 The Commons. We are associated with the Amherst Church of Christ, which meets every Sunday morning at 9:30 at 8285 Transit Road.
Our appeal is for those who call themselves Christians to be focused on what the Bible says about Christianity. Nothing more, nothing less. Historically, when people try to add or take away from the Bible, the definition and practice of Christianity becomes overly complicated. Yet the founder of Christianity, Jesus who is called Christ, never taught in a complicated way. He made it a point to describe the very powerful nature of Christianity in simple terms.
We are always attempting to act like Christ, which is the basic definition of the term "Christian". We would like to copy him in how we present and teach God's Words. His teachings were simple to understand; but that doesn't necessarily mean that they were easy to accept. His words were very applicable to His time, but that doesn't mean that they don't apply anymore today.
If this concept appeals to you, come and check us out sometime. We spend plenty of time in prayer and discussion and learning more about what it is the Bible truly says. If you don't agree with this, contact us and let us know why. Whatever the case may be, we hope to hear from you.

I've loved two things for as long as I can remember: God and people. I felt, then, that it would make sense for me to have a life of ministry. I'm happy to be working as a campus minister at SUNY Buffalo. I've also worked on the Cornell University campus and in the Churches of Christ in Switzerland.
